The next day
Isabella woke up.
She did not want to since it meant that she would be awake. Being awake meant that she would have to think. Thinking meant that she would have to remember. Remembering meant that she would have to deal with the fact that the child that she carried for so long was gone.
Gone, as in never coming back.
She was just getting used to becoming a mother and now because of her brother, that was taken away from her too. Granted, Edward was a victim in all of this as well but to an extent. He set many things in motion and the price to be paid for it was paid in various parts by the rest of the family.
Nevertheless, Isabella was never one to shrink away. She believed in putting her hand to the plow and getting on with it.

A Wish
I sit here in the dark hours thinking jealously about my colleague, Bright Morning and how she has been blessed with a child after trying for so long and enduring so much peril.
I believe that while Beathan was pleased enough when I was with child before, he does not want to have a child now. We have not spoken of trying again since the loss so long ago and we have not done the thing to make a child in a very long time. The Cause takes up a lot of our time and considering the dangers of our work, it might be a prudent decision not to have a child. I still want a child or two though as illogical as it seems.

Beathan and I were recently at his Cousine Bethel's. She was ill and lamenting not being able to continue with her tasks. She has had five helpers. Two are Jane and Anne, who are the sisters of James. The other three are Nini Gurdinan, Margot Stuart and Jenny Fisher. The last three are newly liberated from their homes. They are newly joined to the Cause. All have strong ties. That Nini is a Gurdinan says sufficient. Jenny Fisher is the younger sister of Augustina Fisher, who was an active kindred spirit. She is also Cousine Sarah Maria's Cousine through her father. Margot is a Cousine of Prince William of Wessex. She is in fact, Princess Margaret, sister of Princess Elizabeth, another kindred spirit. She prefers to be called "Margot" or "Yvonne." They have yet to undertake any sensitive missions for the Cause, but are eager to. Jane and Anne have undertaken certain tasks that only Bethel could do. I helped ease Bethel's pain and we worked with James in locating and arranging passage for more kindred to head to Gaaldine. When we left, we took the three with us to "continue" their education. We needed to head back to my parents home.

Isabella's diary - Losing a Battle
I am trying not be disheartened. Beathan gave me the news and we sat quietly for sometime.
I broke the silence by asking about our kindred in the places where they may be taken into custody.
